Build a “Garden” at the city’s corner
In today’s commercial landscape where visual uniformity and algorithmic efficiency are relentlessly pursued, the most captivating trait of a buy-to-stock store lies precisely in its “impurity.” It is not a mere repetition of a singular aesthetic but a complex intersection of avant-garde fashion, classical memory, and urban sanctuary.
SOLSOL EIC
The SOLSOL EIC store has a large area of glass curtain wall on the outside, facing the bustling commercial street and a highly exposed area. The design aims to strip away the external noise and create a highly inclusive “curatorial film” space. One of the starting points of the design is to construct a “afternoon courtyard” space in the city center, creating a romantic new order for modern retail.
Facing natural light and a transparent site, a landscape barrier is introduced in the courtyard that winds along the terrain. Turning the originally straightforward flow into a meandering path, sunlight shines through the building glass, creating soft light spots on the rough surface of the stone. Customers follow the curved line of the barrier and pass through the rectangular doorway, each turning point providing a different perspective and experience.
